Creating Stereoscopic 3D Images
The image below is a bad stereoscopic image. My friend accidentally tilted the camera as she moved it to the right. What you get for the stereoscopic image is two of everything. Even though it isn't executed correctly, I think it's sort of interesting.

Outline for the Second Term Paper
A.
Introduction of 3 films: Speed (1994), Gone in
60 Seconds (2000), Fast Five (2011).
a.
Thesis: While over-the-top acting is acceptable
to bring out the emotion in the audience, the stunts in these films are so
highly exaggerated that the believability of the world isn’t so believable.
B.
Gone in 60 Seconds (2000)
a.
Remake of a 1974 film with the same name. The
remake stars Angelina Jolie and Nicolas Cage.
b.
Basic plot: A retired car thief must steal 50
cars in one night to save his brother’s life.
c.
Eleanor Chase Scene
i.
The most anticipated scene where the audience
sees a stolen car being chased by the police.
ii.
Eleanor, a Ford GT 500 Fastback, enters a
construction yard.
1.
Barrel of hot air flies off pipe and complicates
chase.
a.
Feels like it is going way to fast.
b.
Doesn’t do as much damage as it should.
2.
Police jeep gets hit by wrecking ball and pushed
through a concrete wall
a.
Feels too fast.
b.
Policeman driving the jeep would most likely
have died.
iii.
Eleanor jumping off of the flatbed of a tow
truck, using it as a ramp to get over car crash.
1.
Distance between Eleanor and the ramp seem okay,
but the ramp feels too steep for a jump of that magnitude.
2.
Eleanor would not fly that far in the air,
gravity would not allow it.
C.
Speed (1994)
a.
Bus jumping over the gap on the overpass.
i.
Buses can’t pop wheelies.
1.
The bus would need a 90 foot ramp at a 10ᵒ angle,
making it 16 feet high.
ii.
Bus would not jump as high as it did in the film
D.
Fast Five (2011)
a.
Bus rolling at beginning of film
i.
Virtually impossible, it would not roll that
many times (approx. 6-8 times). At best, it would probably half that time.
b.
Removing cars from the train
i.
The truck would not be able to keep up with the
speed of the train. Even if it could, they would not be able to get the cars
out horizontally without doing some damage to the car.
ii.
Cars would be more damaged when they hit the ground
from being dropped to the ground
c.
Dragging of the safe.
i.
Two cars are not able to pull out a safe and
drag it around the city streets.
ii.
Even so, the safe would be so heavy that it
wouldn’t swing back and forth as fast as it does.

Character Animation
For this animation, I used a desk lamp, slinky and plant. I placed the objects on a table and placed my camera on a tripod on a shelf across from the room and zoomed in on the table. I put strings on slinky and the plant. I moved the objects while I had a friend shoot the pictures. About halfway through shooting my camera battery died and we used my friend's camera. I then organized the pictures and put it all together in Quicktime Pro. This was challenging and fun all at the same time. I hope you enjoy it!
